Defence Academy Pony Club Centre

Please note some Pony Club Memberships are now due or overdue, please bring your Pony Club membership card with you when attending rallies

In November 2008 we were inspected and approved by The Pony Club Centre Area Representitive.

The Main Objectives of the Pony Club are:

* To encourage young people to ride and learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding.

* To provide instruction in riding and horsemanship and to instil in members the proper care of horses and ponies.

* To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship, and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character and self disipline.

Pony Club Centre membership runs alongside Branch membership around the country. Centre members do not have to own their own horses/ponies but they will have the same oppotunities as pony owning Branch members.

Oppotunities include working towards achievment badges, progressive riding tests, and Pony Club tests up to "AH" standard (internationally recognised qualification), which would include passin the Riding and Road Safety test.

We are planning lots of fun activities for all ages including Rallies, Competitions, and quizzes. We look forwards to liasing with other Centres encouraging inter-centre visits and competitions.
